Ledet Muleta is a Public Health Professional, Mental Health advocate, as well as Civic Engagement advocate for minorities. In the past she has worked for the National Institute of Health for 11 years and University of Maryland Medical Center for six years. Muleta earned her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati and her Masters of Public Health (MPH) from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. Muleta’s principal area of focus is breaking the stigmas associated with mental illness and mitigating their effect on minority groups. She is the founder and director of Medixaa Health Services (MHS) – an organization that addresses inadequacies in mental healthcare among minorities and promotes awareness of mental illnesses in minority groups. Muleta is member of several community organizations that advocate for better mental health and civic engagement organizations for minorities.
