Patricia Edwards

Patricia (PE) Edwards brings over 15 years of experience in global ecosystem development, gender parity, and cultural competency in a range of industries not limited to: Media, Policy, STEAM education, SAAS, data privatization and more. PE studied Broadcast Journalism and Public Relations at California State University – Long Beach prior to joining NBC-4. PE has worked with multiple household names including Billboard Media, Rolling Stone Los Angeles, National Geographic and IEEE Computer Society.

While serving at IEEE as their Senior Member & Geographic Activities Specialist, PE was able to increase diverse participation in their prestigious scholarship program by 300% as well as incorporate all 10 regions professional and student (which comprise over 60K members) in the international Code What Matters campaign conceptualized by the founders of Code.org. PE also served as a Communications volunteer with The 100 Black Men of Greater Washington DC and was able to fortify their STEM the 100 Way program including the programming that connected 5000+ black families to STEM scholarships, after-school activities and participation in the AEOP Gains in the Education of Mathematics and Sciences summer program.

PE was also an OFA Alumni Trainer and has worked on a multitude of fundraising and grassroots campaigns for a range of representatives across the nation. She was 2018 Entrepreneur and Social Innovator of the Year for National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) – DC and then served on their 2018-2019 board as the PR Chair. PE also served as the 2018 PR chair for DC Startup Week and 2020 Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) Co-Chair for DC, MD, and VA.

PE currently serves as the Chief Strategy Officer & Partner for Lionheart Strategy International (LSI) a multicultural consulting agency focused on investment strategy, international relations and multidisciplinary global value chain management and ecosystem development. PE mentors a host of organizations ranging from Cybersecurity to TV News & Production and also proliferates advocacy for sustainability, inclusion and leadership development for women, black people throughout the diaspora and promising innovation from developing countries. Her role includes an emphasis on gender equality, high-skills + high-tech transfer for women and wealth building.
